Change: Turning Uncertainty into Opportunity
Navigating & Leading Change at UMBC
Change happens all the time, whether we choose it, or it chooses us. Changes in leadership, priorities, structures and processes, like those that we have seen at UMBC, can be challenging, each initiating a transition that requires us to look beneath processes to understand the human side of change. In the end, it's our people who will make change happen and we need the right combination of knowledge, skills, and strategies, as well as a common language to understand, cope with, and adapt to change.
Introducing the FranklinCovey Change: How to Turn Uncertainty into Opportunity Program. This engaging learning experience will provide practical skills and strategies to help us understand and manage our reactions, learn how to navigate change both functionally and emotionally, and will introduce a model that makes the change process predictable. Modules are included for different populations, both individual contributors as well as managers and leaders who need to proactively lead and support their people.
There are three separate 2-hour modules:
- Navigating Change (2 hours) - For Individual Contributors + Managers and Leaders
- Leading Change Part I (2 hours) - For Managers and Leaders
- Leading Change Part II (2 hours) - For Managers and Leaders
NAVIGATING CHANGE FOR INDIVIDUAL CONTRIBUTORS SESSIONS: The total time commitment is 2 hours. Please choose from the following dates/times below:
October 24th:
Session 1: 8:30 a.m. - 10:30 a.m.
Session 2: 10:45 a.m. - 12:45 p.m.
Session 3: 1:30 p.m. - 3:30 p.m.
Session 4: 3:45 p.m. - 5:45 p.m.
October 25th:
Session 5: 8:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m.
Session 6: 10:15 a.m. - 12:15 p.m.
NAVIGATING & LEADING CHANGE FOR MANAGERS and LEADERS: The total time commitment for Managers and Leaders is 6 hours. The 3 modules have been clustered together for this group to take them back-to-back over the course of a day. Materials, lunch and refreshments will be provided. Please choose from the following session options below:
Session 1: October 18th 9:30 a.m. - 4:45 p.m.
Session 2: October 19th 9:30 a.m. - 4:45 p.m.
Session 3: October 23rd 9:30 a.m. - 4:45 p.m.
