Now Accepting Nominations for 2027 re-IGNITE leadership program!
Introducing re-IGNITE: Lead Self & Others Through Complexity
Nominations are open Oct. 20–Dec. 4, 2026. Spots are filled first-come, first-served.
re-IGNITE is the new foundational leadership program of the HRSTM LEADS Academy. Over one semester, a cohort of UMBC leaders at all levels builds two critical capabilities that matter most right now: leading yourself with emotional intelligence, and leading others by adapting your approach to what each person needs.
Why it matters now: Leaders are navigating constant change with less certainty and thinner support. Gallup finds that managers account for about 70% of the variance in their teams' engagement, yet only 22% of managers are engaged themselves. re-IGNITE gives leaders practical tools to steady themselves and provide developmentally approrpriate support to their teams.
Who it's for: Current UMBC supervisors, managers, and project/team leaders, whether you manage people or lead programs and projects, at any level of the university. Costs are covered by HRSTM.
