July SkillSoft Topic of the Month: First Time Mgr Essentials
Series of courses for new supervisors
This set of modules is for faculty, staff member, or graduate student who is new to a supervisory role. The three 1-hour modules below will give you success strategies for the various facets of management. The first module addresses myths and truths of management, recognizes constraints, and offers strategies for dealing with common mistakes. The second module gives you insights on how to establish credibility, offers new management success techniques as well as teaches you how to bring techniques that worked with coworkers into this new role as manager. The third module helps you how to meet organizational expectations and how to create a strong relationship with your boss. The fourth module is a 20-minute Challenge video course that explores how to create a transition strategy for moving into management. Taking all four will help ensure you’re ready for your role as a new manager.
